How to Tell Others You’re Going to Treatment

As you may or may not know, September is National Recovery Month, which promotes the societal benefits of prevention, treatment, and recovery for mental and substance use disorders. This year’s theme is “Join the Voices for Recovery: Speak Up, Reach Out,” and its objective is to encourage people to openly speak up about mental and substance use disorders and the reality of recovery. It also works to promote ways that individuals can recognize behavioral health issues and reach out for help.

In honor of National Recovery Month, we have created this infographic on ways to tell others you’re going to treatment and beginning the recovery process. The decision to enter treatment can be difficult to explain, but here are some tips on how to tell your friends and family that you are going:
