Mr. Wallis’ work is based on the belief that people want freedom from the bonds of life’s challenges. Mr. Wallis is well known for his warm, personal and nonjudgmental approaches to assisting individuals attain self-actualization. With over 23 years of direct clinical practice with diverse populations, Mr. Wallis has hands-on experience with all forms of anxiety and depressive disorders using cognitive behavioral therapy as the guiding force behind his work. Mr. Wallis believes that psychotherapy can help individuals most effectively use their resources to increase self-understanding, to improve decision making and create a path to the life they want to live.
Mr. Kerry M. Wallis began his work in the mental health/chemical dependency field in New York City, New York where he worked in a multicultural and multiethnic environment. Mr. Wallis moved to Boynton Beach, Florida in 2007 and opened up his private practice in 2009. Mr. Wallis has conducted EMDR sessions in a chemical dependency/mental health rehabilitation center for over 50 individuals. He has taught Psychology, Behavioral Science and Sociology from 1993-2005 at Mercy College and Westchester Community College in New York. He is a trained Alternatives to Violence Facilitator and is working towards being a Certified Family Mediator by the Florida Supreme Court.
Mr. Wallis earned his Master’s Degree from Long Island University. He has completed all required course and internship towards a Ph.D in clinical psychology from Walden University. Mr. Wallis has over 20 years of management and administrative experience.
Mr. Kerry M. Wallis is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. He is a Certified Addictions Professional (CAP) and an Internationally Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (ICDAC). He is also certified as a SAP, The Department of Transportation (DOT) regulation — 49 CFR Part 40. He is a member of the American Psychological Association.
